The Nuremberg Christkind as ambassador of Christmas
The Christmas Villages in Philadelphia and Baltimore are modeled on the Nuremberg event and opened every year by the previous Christkind – with the famous prologue spoken in English. On both markets the Christkind will meet with the visitors and this is always a very special and magical moment for young and old!
The beautifully decorated market stalls are offering typical German food like the delicious sausages, mulled wine and of course gingerbread with really tempting scents!
The tradition of the Christkind is known among German-speaking countries including Germany, Austria and Switzerland, as well as in the Czech Republic, Italy, Liechtenstein, and even some South American countries. This special representative of Nuremberg also pays regular visits to Nuremberg's Scottish sister city Glasgow.
